High Relief Rose

Front: Highly skilled, high relief carving of a rose on a stem with leaves and a bud. One leaf extends out over the edge of the spine.
Rear: Incised center rectangular border with heavily concave corners, painted gold
Spine: Five raised, single rib bands.
Foredge: Inset but flat, painted gold.
From a collection assembled thirty years ago by Phyllis Baker, an antique dealer in Wilmington, Delaware.
