Front: Incised complex monogram “APR” set within a shield. Flowers incised within the center letter R. Foliate and geometric designs directly above and below the shield. Bordered by an incised design comprised of diamonds, ivy and a lozenge. Lightly incised date at top of border: “1890.”
Rear: Lightly incised center design of a hand holding a bouquet of flowers (colored red), cattails, leaves and wheat. Surrounded by border decorated with lightly incised geometric designs, ivy and ribbons.
Spine: Four incised lines denoting three bands.
Foredge: Inset but flat, painted gold. Top and bottom edges painted gold as well.

Excellent condition overall. Some paint loss to foredges.
