Two Tintypes

Back: Hand colored tintype portrait of a man with large beard inset at center and surrounded by metal mat/frame from original case; surrounded by a border of incised lines; polished surface. Tintype is under glass.
Spine: Three raised bands that divide the spine into four segments. Polished and rounded.
1. Slightly coved edges, polished.
2. Tintypes date to late 1860s but book itself appears to have been created later. Likely a memorial.
3. Purchase price of $945 included the following three stone books: #SB-95, #SB-96, and #SB-97.
4. Stone has a waxy appearance.
