Front: Tintype portrait of a young man within copper mat & frame, all within an elaborate incised border. Tintype glued to stone. Both covers polished.
Rear: “Katie” incised in elaborate letters, all within same incised border as on front.
Spine: Four incised ribs.
Foredge: Coved, matte.

Likely a mourning book.   Katie’s husband or fiancee?  Very skilled carving.
