Front: Albumen print photograph of Milan Cathedral inset at center, glazed. Lightly incised beneath photograph: “Ricordo di Milano”. Lightly incised, Florentine style leaf pattern border. Incised decoration painted in black, much of which is now missing.
Back: Empty, inset space at center where another photograph may have been. Surrounded by same inscription and border as on front.
Spine: Four raised bands.

All page edges are indented but flat.
