Front: Finely carved image of the Masonic emblem depicting a compass and square with “G” at center. Carved cloud or “wind” at top corners and folded pages of a book? at bottom.
Rear: Incised single line rectangular border, painted gold? (now black). Incised decoration painted gold? (now black).
Spine: Three bands (top, bottom and center) delineated by three sets of incised double lines; incised decoration painted gold? (now black).
Foredge: Recessed, flat, lightly polished.

Very skillful carving.
