Back: Incised geometric pattern of diamonds and lines containing a center square with an X at center; line border; all lines stained a dark greenish-black color. Rounded, slightly convex shape.
Spine: Rounded, but without bands.
Fore edge: Flat and painted dark greenish black color in a striated manner meant to denote pages.
