Front: Lightly incised center profile portrait of an Indian wearing a feathered bonnet. Bordered by saw-toothed pattern within bands above and below; incised cover border.
Back: Lightly incised at center: “Pipestone / Minn.” within same border design as front.
Spine: Chamfered, but blank and polished.
Foredge: Coved with top and bottom edges flush with covers.
