Front: “Holy Bible” incised and painted gold, set against a raised cross; all set within a carved, concave cornered rectangle. Surrounding surface is polished.
Back: Blank except for incised and gold painted diagonal corners and a hinge line.
Spine: Three bands. Top and bottom bands comprised of two incised, gold painted lines, center band comprised of a single incised, gold painted line.
Foredge: Concave and painted gold.

Very skillful carving.
