Clasped Hands

SB-051

Front: Lightly incised design of a central heart containing two clasped hands with, by another less accomplished hand, a house and a tree above.
Back: Lightly incised design of a horseshoe enclosing a vine.
Spine: Four lightly incised bands.
Foredge: Unusual v-groove cross-section. Other edges flat.

Handwritten inscription in red ink on front: difficult to decipher, not transcribed here. Design is sgraffito like because it rests on the surface rather than being actually incised. Carving on this book has a folk quality.
Appears to have been made by the same craftsperson as book #68.
