Back: Incised design in shallow relief of a rope wreath with the initials “SJA” centered between two doves? with outstretched wings. Background pattern of wave-like decoration. This may be a memorial decoration.
Spine: Blank.
Foredge: Deep cove with all page edges highly polished.
Thin felt border cut in a wave-like pattern around central incised design serves as a buffer. Applied later.
