Front: Four very deeply carved Gothic recesses surrounding a central circular element with an applied high relief crown. Three holes at top and bottom. Crown and all recesses gilded. Elaborate.
Rear: Elongated vertical diamond surrounded by deeply carved hexagonal space. Conforming incised line around hesagon with corner holes. All incising and holes gilded. Center diamond missing applied element.
Spine: Three thin raised ribs with bishops miter and star in high relief.
Foredge: Coved with scribed pagelines. All gilded.
Very skillful elaborate carving in unusually high relief. Neo Gothic look. Does not have a typically American look. Italian?
