Front: Heavily decorated. Overall raised carving in which the word “SOUVENIR” appears above clasped hands at the center (placed sideways, ie: vertically, not horizontally) and surrounded by a border of bell flowers. Four-petaled flower at each corner. Surface is stained brown.
Rear: Raised carving of a footed bowl filled with flowers (bell flowers and forget-me-nots). Image appears sideways, ie: vertically, not horizontally). Surface is stained brown.
Spine: Raised “1895” at center of heavily incised/raised chevron pattern. Three three-ribbed bands. Surface is stained brown.
Foredge: Inset but flat; surface is stained brown.
