Front: Very flatly carved clasped hands with cross-hatched zig-zag sleeves and cross-hatched forearms set against a rough, stippled, squared edged diamond shaped background; surrounded by an incised line border. Incised hinge line.
Back: Double heart (outer raised, stippled surface; inner raised, polished surface) set against same background as front.
Spine: 3 raised, polished bands with incised zig-zag lines on either side.
Fore edge: Coved and stippled; all edges painted gold.
